About Michael
Michael Zalewa is a Psychotherapist licensed under Chapter 491 of the Florida Statutes. He was awarded a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling in 1998 from Nova Southeastern University and currently holds the designation of a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (#MH 5840) awarded by Florida's Department of Health in December of 1999. He is fully qualified to serve under the Department of Health's Board of Marriage and Family Counselors, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Licensed Mental Health Counselors.
Michael has also been qualified as an expert witness in both the 4th and 7th Circuit. He has testified in both criminal and civil area of law. He proudly performs mental health evaluations and substance abuse evaluations for both private attorneys and judges. Michael also consults with criminal defense attorneys and the State Attorney's office in the areas of competency, insanity, mental health, and substance abuse. He is also licensed to work as a certified forensic examiner in the State of Florida. Prior to his work as a psychotherapist, Michael was enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in the aviation field. He retired from service in 1998.
